I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton. His Alice in Wonderland, however, left much to be desired. I don't really think that it's his fault, I'm sure the studios had a lot to do with it.
ANYWAY.
Jan Svankmajer's Alice in Wonderland still reigns supreme as my favorite film version. Here are two scenes that I found.
...And people wonder why I can't sleep at night.

Have you seen the collection of Svankmajer's short films? They are also wonderful. "Games of Stones" stays with me.
I haven't seen "Games of Stones", but I HAVE seen "Jabberwocky" and a more political short about communism that I don't remember the name of. He's pretty incredible.
